Traits are used to help configure the auto schedule. Traits break down categories into sub-categories.
Each organisation may wish to use this feature however works best for them. Examples of the ways traits are used include:
- Geographical
- Languages
- GP Surgery
There's 2 ways of using traits; for example, if we are using locations, the first method is having the patient in the group England and then specifying the area they live in, while the staff have all the areas they can cover
The second way we have seen traits being used is that a group e.g. England is broken down into 2 traits so it would be England 1 and England 2 this is separated geographically so staff members do not cross each others route and end up in the same location
Auto schedule will match ALL patients traits. I.e. If a patient has multiple traits then the staff member would need all multiple traits
If the patient has more traits than a staff member then the staff member would not be allocated due to there being incorrect traits with the patient
