Civica Scheduling has a business continuity plan in place so that we can respond appropriately in the event of unplanned downtime or an unexpected event. For reassurance, please see some key points of our business continuity plan outlined below. Civica Scheduling does everything it can to reduce the risk of having any unscheduled downtime on Civica Scheduling, however we would recommend having your own business continuity plan in place as well.
Key Points of Our Business Continuity Plan
In order to ensure that the customer experience is as uninterrupted as possible, we test elements of our business continuity plan on a regular basis.
Civica Scheduling as a company is set up as a remote first organisation and so we do not need a physical site to be able to operate as normal.
Civica Scheduling is a hosted service with all data held in Civica Scheduling, hosted by AWS across multiple availability zones within the UK.
Back ups of Civica Scheduling data are created multiple times a day and these backups are stored in offsite servers so that no data is lost. In the event of a complete catastrophe we would be able to restore the data and so it won't be lost. We also back up the Civica Scheduling software on a server that is in a different physical location to the main servers. This means that for business continuity purposes, we can set up the system on a brand new server from these backups in the event of multiple failures or the unavailability of our providers.
We also have a number of monitoring tools so that we are alerted of any speed issues or unexpected downtime and can quickly respond to reduce any impact to our customers. In many cases this also allows us to be able to respond before customers are impacted by any speed or downtime issues.
If you do find that Civica Scheduling is experiencing any downtime or running slowly, the first place to check is our Status Page, as this will be updated when we are alerted to any issues.
Civica Scheduling is committed to the DSP Toolkit and ISO27001 in order to set a minimum standard for the security and privacy of your data.
In the unlikely event that Civica Scheduling is no longer trading, we can arrange an escrow service by a separate organisation that holds a copy of all your data and a copy of the code that Civica Scheduling is written in. This is a chargeable service to set up and you would hold a contract with the third party escrow company. However, Civica Scheduling has been around for over 10 years - we are not a new company with a single activity.
