When you create a repeating job you can specify whether this job is intended for a one person or for two people to attend.
When you actually allocate carers on the compact view the system will only ever allocate the number of staff you have requested. However, there might be a number of reasons why you might want to manually override this, for instance if a new staff member was shadowing or if you wanted to send a senior member to do a spot check. You can do this on the compact view by selecting the orange allocate button on the right hand side next to the appropriate job -> selecting the next staff member in the pop up window.
(As an aside - if you use the bulk allocate feature on this page, ie when you tick the box next to each job and select the staff member at the top, this will *not* add an extra staff member if it is a single handed job, instead it will replace the current staff member with the new one. If it is a double handed, as the system does not know which person you want to replace, it will add a third person)
If you want to be warned whenever you add too many staff to a job, you can ensure the warning is switched on by going to Settings -> Account Settings -> Warn if events have too many users allocated, eg, 2 for a normal event and 3 for a double up.
If this checkbox is ticked, whenever you have added too many staff this job will show in yellow on the compact view and state "Too many" next to the job. It will also show in yellow as a problem on the week view and the day view.
