The best way to deal with staff that are away because of long-term sickness is to make it so they cannot be allocated to jobs.
Doing this will unallocate them from all of their work during this period.
You can do this by:
- Go to "View all Staff" and click on the "Edit Staff" button beside the staff members name.
- Scroll down until you see a box on the left that says "Can be allocated (show in weekview/dayview)". Untick this box to make it so they cannot be allocated in any future jobs by accident.
Once you have done this it will hide them from any allocate list and it will also hide them from the week view and day view, once that staff member returns you will need to just tick that box again to make them show.
However if the staff member is off for a set period of time, it is best to use the leave/absence on the staff member's profile page.
