The search bar is located in the top right hand corner of the screen.
Once you have filled in the search box, Civica Scheduling will then search multiple fields for each Patient record. So for instance, if you have a Patient in Edinburgh, but you don't remember the name of the Patient, you can just type in Edinburgh and Civica Scheduling will bring up all the Patients that have Edinburgh in the address. Similarly, if you only know the first name of the guy who works there is Dave, then type that in and all the records with Dave in will appear.
Searching multiple fields for a record also allows you to do powerful searches, so for instance you can look up all your customers in a telephone code area or in a specific post code area (not case sensitive). Please keep in mind that the post code will have to match, so if you saved the post code on a profile as M2 3NG, then searching M23NG will not find results. This will only search the post code fields. Custom Fields, Comments, Messages etc will not be searched and if the post code has been inputted in Address Line 4, it will not be found.

Your results are then shown in different categories, so you can easily identify the one you are looking for. The results are shown in the following categories:
- Patients - you can see it shows a few different elements of information, and you can add a new Patient from this page.
- Sites
- Staff - you can see it shows a few different elements of information, and you can add a new staff member from this page.
You also have the ability to search for messages and any comments on your account. In order to do this you will first need to enter your search term into the Civica Scheduling Search box and then click on the text that says "Search again including Journal / Messages". or "Search again including Comments / Care Logs".
However, if you use a particular naming convention you can find the files you are looking for as the search bar will also search for files. An example of this would be "driving licence". When the word "driving" is entered into the search bar and is searched for, it will bring up all the driving licences stored on the system.
Please note - Access to these files will also depend on your User Permissions. If you are an Account Manager, you will have access to all files within the system. Office Users (with permission to see other other staff) will have access to files within Staff's and Patient's files tab on their profile page. Office Users (without permission to view other staff) will only be able to access files within a Patient's Files tab.
If you are using the "Act As Group" functionality this will also filter the search to match this group.
